Glenworth Valley Adds A Bear Grylls Experience As Part of Their Expansion

Glenworth Valley is Australia's largest horse riding and outdoor adventure centre. Its adventure experiences include Laser Skirmish, Quad Biking, Kayaking, and Abseiling and now has just added a Bear Grylls Experience as part of its overall expansion.

Glenworth Valley is the only location in Australia to feature the Bear Grylls Survival Academy, selected for its pristine landscape in 3,000 acres of unspoilt wilderness.

Described as a three hour crash course in survival and adventure, the Bear Grylls Half Day Experience gives participants the opportunity to learn basic survival skills including the priorities of survival, fire starting, water purification, navigating without a compass.

Participants will also have the opportunity to try what is described as “interesting” food while also having the opportunity to abseil down a 15 metre cliff, squeeze through a rock crevasse and traverse steep gullies, all while traversing through the natural rainforest.

Laser Skirmish at Glenworth Valley Glenworth Valley’s Activities Manager, Nick Hall, who has spearheaded the Bear Grylls Survival Academy, explains “We’re excited to launch the Bear Grylls Half Day Experience to add to our 24 hour survival courses at Glenworth Valley Outdoor Adventures.”

"The new Half Day Experience gives people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to learn some basic survival skills while having a great adventure in the Australian bush,” said Nick.

The Bear Grylls Survival experience is available on selected weekends and during school holidays.

The Bear Grylls Half Day Experience is suitable for people aged nine years and over with a reasonable level of fitness. It runs for three hours, is fully guided and all necessary equipment is provided.

Glenworth Valley is situated in a deep valley in the hinterland region behind the Central Coast, a one hour drive from central Sydney and Newcastle CBDs.
The valley is nestled among National Park with a range of environments including lush green valleys, open pastures, impressive rock formations and tall eucalypts.

Popran Creek, the purest tributary to the Hawkesbury River, runs the length of the valley and visitors can refresh with a swim in the natural rock pools.
The valley is also home to many species of native flora and fauna including wallabies, several species of reptiles, bellbirds, kookaburras and lyrebirds.

Glenworth Valley Expansion

Central Coast outdoor activity centre Glenworth Valley has begun construction on a new Functions and Events Centre.

The all-weather state of the art facility will seat up to 420 delegates, with full kitchen providing cafe and restaurant facilities.

Glenworth Valley offers horse riding, quad biking, kayaking, laser skirmish, abseiling and bushwalking across 1,214 hectares of wilderness and just one hour north of Sydney's CBD.
